Splash Aquatics started in September 1994

by Bob and Cynthia Bandaruk.

 

We teach proper stroke techniques along with cardiovascular conditioning through the sport of Swimming.

 

Splash is a member of:

USA swimming

Southern California Swimming

Orange County swim conference

 

Splash competes in swim meets throughout Southern California all year long.

We have a wide range of participants in the program from:

Beginning Swimmers as well as Intermediate to advance swimmer levels

We compete in recreational level dual meets up to the junior Olympic Level invitationals. 

 

Numerous Splash Swimmers move on to compete for their high school swim teams.

Several have gone on to swim at the collegiate level

2 making it to the Olympic Trials. Tom Shields and Yasi Jahanshahi

1 Olympian competing in Rio and Tokyo.  Tom Shields won gold medals in 2016 and 2020 Medley relays swimming the Butterfly leg of the preliminaries Medley relay ..

 

Coach Bob began his coaching career in 1984 and has been coaching ever since. 39 years

 

Starting with summer league programs then venturing to year round Swimming as part of USA Swimming and Southern California Swimming .

In addition Bob has coached high school Swimming for 18 years during that time.

 

Coach Cynthia began coaching Swimming in 1990 with her community summer league swim team. Along with Bob, Cynthia has run Splash Aquatics

for the past 28 years. and has been part of USA Swimming and Southern California Swimming during that time.

In addition to Swimming Cynthia coached high school diving for 2 years having been a diver in college at Golden West Junior college

 

Bob received his Bachelors degree from Humboldt State University in Exercise science in 1989. He also has teaching credentials in PE and Health Ed.

 

Cynthia received her Bachelors degree from Long Beach State University in Biology in 1999.
